In collaboration with Spaces, Gigstarter is organizing the very first music and work festival on Friday November 2nd in Amsterdam. Expect a musically filled day (from 9am to 8pm) in which work and music are combined with workshops, performances, spontaneous jams and time in between to work. We selected some highlights for you from the program, come along and be inspired.
A classic start with Alla Classica
10:15-10:30
Start your day with beautiful classical music, who does not want that? Ensemble Alla Classica was founded in 2009 and since then performing regularly at all kinds of events throughout the Netherlands. Expect atmospheric pieces from the greatest composers, who can provide goose bumps early in the morning.
Teambuilding by Brood & Beleg
10:30-11:00
By combining the art of (team)work with making music, the coaches of Brood & Beleg look at how music can positively influence the working environment. Listening to each other and coming together with music is essential. During the short workshop, coach Bart van der Velpen and composer and jazz trumpeter Diederik Rijpstra will use the sounds of the audience to develop a completely new company within 30 minutes. Experience it yourself and be amazed by the power of music!
Guitar lessons from Guitar Academy
11:00-11:30
The founder of Guitar Academy, the virtuoso Wim den Herder, will teach you the basics of playing the guitar within half an hour. And you do not have to have any experience at all. Bring a guitar from home, and do not be surprised if you jam after only half an hour! At the end, Wim also shows the great possibilities of the instrument with his unique Wimpicking technique.
The amazing ABC Gospel Choir
12:30-12:45
Celebrate your lunch break at work with a gospel choir! ABC Gospel Choir is going to perform a very fine collection of black gospel, Motown and soul classic covers. The repertoire of the choir is diverse as the singers themselves. This is going to sound very special in the general hall of Spaces.
Silent Disco with DJ PAUL C4GE
15:00-16:00
DJ and trumpet player Paul C4GE plays the best records for every occasion, from company parties to festivals. And now for the first time during a workday. He takes his Silent Disco system with him so that everyone can enjoy with their own headphones and dance to the best songs. Shake it off!
Brazilian party with Roda da Holanda
17:15-18:15
The great live act, Roda da Holanda, is inspired by 'roda de samba', made famous in Rio de Janeiro, where the musicians sit around a table and the audience is in a circle around them. You do not come closer to a Brazilian party than with Roda de Holanda.
We hope to see you on this inspiring day on November 2nd! Bring your colleagues, friends and flex workers along to this free accessible festival where you can combine work and the festival feeling for the first time. The entire program can be found on the Spaces site.
