The Spanish DJ Frank Gomez is the Gigstarter DJ of the Year 2018. We interviewed Frank about his career as a DJ, tips for fellow DJs and how he became DJ of the Year.
When did you start as DJ?
'I became interested in music in 1998, and in 2005 I started working as a waiter in a discotheque, in the old Cathedral Club in Seville. Early in the morning when there was no one, instead of having a CD playing In the nightclub, I used to go practicing. On Wednesday we played funky and soul music, the other days we played house and tech. That's how I got involved in the great genres House and Funk.'

'I produce my own music, both in tech house and in other musical genres, for when I go to other clubs where they don't play house. My remixes of the specific genre of the nightclub are with me if I go to that specific place.'

'Festival los Palomos, Badajoz for 26,000 people.'
